Since its founding in 2018, eco has been dedicated to heritage conservation. The initiative emerged from the collaboration between two Mexican architects specializing in this field: Rocío García Camarero and Aimée Mancilla Porraz.

By conservation, we mean the act of intervening in a work—whether architectural or from another discipline—to ensure its preservation, whether through restoration, rehabilitation, or enhancement.

To conserve is to pause, observe, understand, and value. Our contribution to the life of a heritage asset is temporary, limited to a specific moment in time. We speak of heritage conservation because referring to a single form of heritage ignores its diversity and excludes those elements not yet officially recognized as such.

Our goal is to identify and highlight the values that contribute to building collective memory. What we typically call heritage can take many forms—architecture, sculpture, painting... There is no definitive list when it comes to modes of expression. What unites them is their ability to leave a lasting mark on society.

In 2022, with the aim of promoting both tangible and intangible Latin American heritage, eco launched the development of a dissemination platform called LUPA.
